LRAD Competition Company
Members of the Competition Company compete in 4 Competitions in the Spring Semester.
The Competition Company rehearsals are throughout the Fall & Spring Semesters.
Rehearsals are on Friday evenings... September (after Labor Day) through mid-June (recital).

*At the required Parent Meeting, we will review the information for the Competition Company requirements, rehearsal process, competition dates, and answer questions!
*All dancers interested in auditioning must have a parent attend the meeting.
Dancers are welcome & encouraged to attend the meeting as well!

Company Requirements - 2024/25:
Company Dance Requirements:
All Company Dancers are required to participate in 1 Group Dance.
Additional Group Dances, Duets, and Solos are optional.
Minimum Class Requirements:
Combo A:
2 dance classes per week, including 1 ballet/tap and 1 hip hop/jazz combo class.
1 year of previous dance class required.
Levels 1-2:
2 dance classes per week, including 1 ballet /jazz class & 1 hip hop/tap class. The lyrical/contemporary class is highly recommended as an additional class.
Level 3:
4 dance classes per week: 1 ballet class , 1 jazz class, 1 lyrical/contemporary class, and a 4th class of their choice, per week.
Levels 4-6:
4 dance classes per week: 2 ballet classes , 1 jazz class, & 1 lyrical/contemporary class per week. Additional classes are recommended, but not required.
All Levels:
Dancer must attend technique class in all styles the dancer is competing in.
(For example, if a dancer wants to compete in a lyrical dance, they must be enrolled in and attend a weekly lyrical technique class.)
Attendance Policy for Classes:
Dancers are allowed 3 absences for each required class per semester. Approved make-up
classes or private lessons are required for each additional absence.
Attendance Policy for Company Rehearsals:
Dancers are allowed 1 absence for each group dance rehearsal per semester. Private lessons are required for each additional absence.
Attitude and Professionalism:
Company dancers AND families are expected to represent La Roche Academy of Dance in a
positive way showing care, respect, and a positive attitude.
This expectation is true both at the studio as well as outings including competitions,
workshops, and community events.
Failure to comply with studio and company requirements may result in dancer's dismissal from the company group, duet, or solo for all future competitions within the season.
Remember, "Practice Makes Perfect"
The above are minimum requirements only. The more work a dancer gives in terms of time,
attendance, and personal effort, the better the result.
